About This Spot

Pulling up to Jazzy’s Kitchen feels like stumbling upon a little treasure tucked away along the roadside in Kihei. There’s a calm, unhurried rhythm here, where the salty trade winds brush past and the scent of fresh, vibrant ingredients mingles with the island air. Without the frills of a traditional restaurant, this Mexican food truck embraces a simplicity that invites you to pause, savor, and connect over genuinely heartfelt flavors.

The pace here is easy—ordering at the counter sparks friendly exchanges with the woman who runs the truck, whose warmth is as authentic as the food she serves. As you wait, the colorful notes of mango and papaya mingle with the savory hints of slow-roasted meats and freshly caught seafood, setting the stage for something richly satisfying yet refreshingly light. It’s a place where boldness and subtlety meet, like the gentle Argentinian touch woven into classic Mexican favorites.

Locals and visitors alike find themselves drawn to menu highlights that feel both comfortingly familiar and playfully inspired. Fish and shrimp tacos, often garnished with lively mango salsa, come kissed by the ocean breeze and prepared with a freshness that speaks to the nearby waters. The occasional indulgence of a soft torta or a traditional caramel flan offers a quiet moment of sweetness to balance sunny, savory bites. And for those seeking a reprieve from the tropical heat, the shaved ice—bright and cooling—is a local favorite that carries a hint of island nostalgia.

Though there’s no formal seating, the unpretentious setting sparks a genuine communal spirit. Visitors gather on nearby rocks or benches, plate in hand, sharing smiles and stories as the Hawaiian sun dips into the horizon. Jazzy’s Kitchen feels less like a stop on a checklist and more like discovering a small, cherished ritual—one that captures the heart of casual island dining through its honest, thoughtful approach to Mexican flavors and friendly human moments.

We have had two lovely lunches from Jazzy's Kitchen Mexican Food Truck. I enjoyed the Al Pastor tacos so much I had them again the following day. My wife enjoyed the fish tacos, which she said tasted very fresh. I really liked their fruit smoothies and shave ice. The woman behind the counter was lovely. Highly recommend!

A little Mexican food truck parked on the side of the road south of Wailea. By far some of the best food I’ve had on the island and quite authentic. Wife had the fish tacos with their delicious salsa and I had a giant fish torta which was amazing. In terms of bang for the buck where eating out tends to be fairly expensive…this place is a total gem. Be aware there’s no seating available, we just ate in the comfort of our AC-laden car but could easily take a picnic to go to the beach nearby. A+!

The food was delicious! We had al pastor tacos, fish tacos with mango/ papaya salsa, and shaved ice. My daughter is ‘selective’ with food and she loved the chicken nachos!

Awesome Mexican food with a subtle Argentinian twist. Fresh, flavorful, and made with real heart. Perfect spot for a chill, delicious bite by the ocean. ????????

Delicious fish and shrimp tacos. One of the better food trucks we ate at! Plan to eat here if going to makena beach

These are hands-down the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. They don’t skimp on the meat at all, and the flavor is unreal. We travel to Mexico often and live in Arizona, so we’ve had our fair share of tacos—these easily rank at the top. We ended up eating here several times during our visit to Maui because everything was that good. The shrimp and chicken tacos were delicious too, but that mango salsa? Absolutely to die for. Even the smoothie was made fresh and was amazing. Highly recommend!

It’s on the side of the road near the northernmost parking lot to Makena beach. There are 2 food trucks there but Jazzy’s is the white one. Came for fish tacos but ordered the fish and al pastor tacos not realising how big they’d be. Tortillas must be 5-6” and they are stuffed large! Fish was the highlight. Didn’t recognise the name/species but it was tender and lightly flavourful with a melt in your mouth texture. Mango salsa was light and bright and a great flavour enhancer! Al pastor was well seasoned and generous but dry. Made for a lovely lunch on the beach!
